Do you think this is a valid idea for a Conceptual art piece?
Okay, I just read the piece on Yahoo about 15 new things we didnt know about the Mona Lisa. Then I had an idea, someone should create a piece of artwork that maybe collages all the most famous portraits we instantly identify. In this way, the audience should question the status that these people have garnered. Not to say that people like George Washington, Lincoln, Da Vinci and others should not be lauded, but I think the general public should further understand the background of these people, understand their flaws as well as their greatness. This sort of art idea would show how these figures have been made into pop representations, brought to legendary status, w/o understanding who these people really were. In a way, I supppose this would be sort of like replicating Andy Warhols pieces. Any thoughts?
