I really need advice, I would be so greatful if someone would please give me a few mins to help me with this?

My ex of nearly a year split up with me 6 weeks ago and i havent seen him since. We had a long distance relationship and initially it was over a text message on my phone from a guy friend about a job that he didnt know so I understand why he was upset. We still stayed talking as friends although he was sometimes blunt. We had a fight on friday he said he wasnt happy with me and how I always cause fights and wont change. In the weeks leading up to the break we did fight a lot I was immature and just wanted attention. He text me Saturday night and said he was sorry for hurting me how he loved me and really missed me but couldnt be with me as he wasnt happy and i wont change. I promised him I would and admitted I was immature and only realise this now and how all couples go through this but if he loved me he wouldn just let go without trying. He popped up on FB chat Monday morning and asked me was I ok?I said I was sorry for making him so unhappy and that I missed telling him my stupid stories and he said I miss hearing them aswell. I text him yesterday and told him all i wanted to do was hug him and he text back me 2 :( then and started a conversation putting x's at the end of messages and then told me missed kissing me and i said i missed snuggling into him i told him i loved him and he told me he did 2. I text him today telling i had a job interview in the city he lives and he said where would i live if i got i and i said i would move up and he said all the best with it. i told him i wanted to see him and he replied with a ?. Im so confused why would he tell me how much he missed me and then reply with a ? i need advice and opinions
