Parents, what age do you believe it becomes appropriate to use "formal" consequences?

I think each kids hits the age of understanding at a slightly different time, but generally around age 3. Some kids (like my son) can understand way earlier and often need to be given formal consequences at an earlier age. Other kids (my daughter) really don't understand the connection from one thing to the other and need to wait a while before being given the 'because you hit your brother, you are not allowed to watch Scooby Doo tonight'. It all depends. I generally think that the average child is ready around age 3.

TWC On Demand Charges ....?

We got our Time Warner Cable bill and there were 4 movies charged to our account that we did not order. We spoke to a TWC Rep and she said it is not possible for somebody to order movies that it has to be done in our home with our remote. One movie was ordered the 1st tuesday and the 1st Saturday and another was ordered the last Tuesday and the Last Saturday (weird) Secondly these movies were movies that we would never watch, (Al Capone, Atlantic Moon, First Deadly Sins, and Dennis Brown Reggae) We did have a PIN on our on demand channels but we had to replace our DVR box with a new one because the old one kept turning off, unfortunately we never reactivated the pin. Could you guys list some of the causes for my cars symtoms?

Just doing a little troubleshooting. My 89 trooper has a rough idle difficult to time, lacks power and hesitates on acceleration. I will need to replace the throughout bearing and possably the clutch but I dont think that will affect the engine. The engine is the 2.6 4cyl model. Why do people say it's easy to make friends when it's not? considering my situation?

I was in the same situation. The only friend I had for years was my boyfriend and he got tired of seeing me everyday haha. I worked as a cashier at a grocery store and everyone I worked with would go out and do things together. I never went haha. So I finally decided to get some of their numbers and would call them on the weekends to see what they were doing. They would invite me to hang out sometimes and I met people through them. At school just talk to people next to you in cl. It was hard for me to hang out with people from school because I commute and hour and a half each day to get there, and most people live on campus. So my advice is to just be forward. Ask people you work with what they are doing for the weekend and see what happens. But dont invite yourself because people hate it when people do that haha. good luck.

I know that sometimes, Myocardial Infarctions (heart attacks) can happen without any symptoms, but in my CPR cl, the symtoms sounded like they would take a toll on the body, pain-wise. so, if u do have a heart attack in ur sleep, wouldnt u wake up when u started to loose blood and have chest pressure. like in sleep apnea, when ur brain starts loosing oxygen, u wake up. so, is it the same with heart attacks? just curious

i have traveled to Riga, Latvia and loved it! it is soo beautiful and green there...so easy to love it. But, in Riga, i only stayed in the airport, and from there, we were not able to see many stores outside. The airport itself is very clean with restaurants and so hopefully the rest of Riga is like that too.

Can your throat hurt for months from a sinus infection?

I get seasonal allergies throughout the year and this year about two months ago, I started getting really sick, with a runny nose, sore throat, and very congested. I went to the Dr. and he gave me some antibiotics - Amoxillin 250 mg. It didn't work so I went back, because I was still sick. So, he then gave me a steroid called medrol and an allergy medication called Singulair. About two weeks later, I was still with a runny nose, congested and my throat was killing me at this point. So, I went back another time and he took some X-rays which proved that my facial cavities were stuffed and he figured it was a sinus infection. This time around, he gave me another antibiotic which name I can't remember, but it was only 250mg. He also gave me Zyrtek and a nasal spray to decongest. My congestion cleared up and so did the nose drip, but my throat is still bothering me and at this point I developed a cough from the irritation, I figured. So, I decided to go to a Ear Nose and Throat Dr. - a specialist in the matter. She said my sinuses were swollen and my throat did look a little red. She then gave me Levaquin 500mg. I've been on it for about five days along with taking Claritin and Singulair both and my throat still hurts... how long does it take for it to go away? Does that mean the antibiotic is not working? Or do I have to wait a while before it takes effect? I'm not congested anymore nor do I have mucosity, but my throat hurts very much, and my cough won't go away. Please help me!!! My house is becoming a pharmacy with so much medication.

Can you mix milk from two different pumpings?

I have always stored my frozen milk in 2-3 oz for easy thawing and perfect portions for rice cereal or baby oatmeal. Extremely fast Fat loss help!?

For the last couple of months, i have been trying to loose the last bit of belly fat around my lower abdomen. and i have had so much trouble getting to my goals. The first month i had good results of about 4% body fat loss and a gain in muscle m, but this second month especially with the holidays its been hard. The first month i was very strict on my diet, no refined sugars, watching my protein and carb intake, protein in every meal 6 meals a day, but i still had dissapointing results (slow results i should say) I weightlift 5 times a week and i do cardio atleast 5 times a week for atleast 40 minutes, and i do interval training for each cardio, but still results are slow. This last month has been harder simply because of the holidays as well as my birthday on the 30th. Anyways i just want to know if there is anything else i could be doing to hyperdrive my fat loss without loosing muscle m. I have gone through caloric intake drops and everything and still no results, its the most disapointing because ive been trying very hard and i start culinary school next week and i know my strict dieting options will go out the window, but at the same time i feel like i should have to eat such strict meals to loose weight, when i go out with friends i eat fish and salads, and it sucks because i LOVE food. Please help! I weigh 180 and i'm 19. I really want my body for the summer as well as i want some time to put on some m when i bulk once i reach my current goals. Something i forgot to add is the week where i had no change in body fat% was the week i hit cardio 12 times that week as well as perfect dieting. is it just me?

In a few weeks time me and my best friend are going to southampton, its the first time i've been away on my own (apart from leeds festival) and im really nervous. This is what you do. Once a week during the growing season, pick the longest stem and cut it back by half. By staggering the time and cut of the stem you should have a full bushy plant all summer. Don't forget to water real good, 'tunias are really thirsty, sometimes I have to water twice a day, when it's hot and sunny. If this sounds like too much work, then cut back on fertilizer. So anyway, since then I have been terrified that she is going to make more false allegations of abuse or neglect and so I have been very short with her and refuse to be around her alone for long periods of time. This may seem extreme, but I have seen many other step parents who have been charged with abuse because of lying stepchildren. And my husband takes her side all the time and makes excuses for her. I am 3 months pregnant now and am considering leaving if things dont improve. I can't live like this in my own home. Any advice or experience with this?

i live w/ my son, his wife and their 2 yr. old. I have no option of any other place to be, and i am blessed and thankful to be here everyday w/ my granddaughter, especially, and my son/wife. My daughter-in-law is an exceptional mother at 20 yrs old, and i tell her all the time. but it seems anything and everything i say about or to the baby is wrong, and i do get told about it. so i really have tried to change my personality (i guess is the word) or habits to make her happy. i also babysit the baby most every day whlie they work, which i love. one example is last night mom was changing baby on the couch, and baby had her toothbrush and was attempting to brush her teeth. I came into the room and the baby got very excited and starting bouncing on the couch with the toothbrush in her mouth. all i said was " you know "punkin", if you keep that up it might choke you". mom took offense saying that she was right there and could handle it, and i have to let her raise her child and that comment made her feel like a bad mom. to make a long story a little shorter, i reminded mom she was exceptional mother, and told her that my comment wasn't meant to reflect on her, that i was "talking" to the baby, it was just a comment. she said that my comment was unacceptable, and i better think things through before saying them. i've worked customer service all my life, and i've seen hundreds of mothers and babies. i have made plenty of comments like "you have a little red nose, it must be cold", the mothers never flipped out on me ever. i've never had to walk on eggshells and worry about what i say will start an uproar. I was brought up with manners and think i know what is appropriate and what is not. any suggestions on how to keep things happy? was i wrong in this case? It has been an ongoing problem, and i do love the mother, as i would a daughter. HELP!

My carburated engine is idling fast?

I have a car with a carburated engine (1981 Honda Prelude) and sometimes when I get it up to around 3000 rpm it gets stuck there, although it will slow down when I brake, when I engage the clutch it shoots back up to 3000 and stays there while I'm idling. If I remove the air filter and use my hand to block the air intake valve, the engine stalls out and this seems to fix the problem. But: (1) what's going on? (2) why does this fix it temporarily (3) what can I do for a more permanent fix? Thanks!

My Uggs turned to leather?

I've had them forever, but for some reason one day when I got my uggs really wet, they turned really dark and feel like leather. I used a suede brush but it just.. didn't work. Some parts are so tough it feels like old chewed gum. Is there anyway to save them, and soften them up.

Why is there so little conflict with Muslims in Western Canada?

I've been living in Canada for around half my life (I was born here, but I've spent a good half my life abroad for various reasons), and in recent years I've noticed that as aggression between Muslims and Westerners has risen everywhere in North America and Europe, in Western Canada there's almost no aggression at all I can see. The mayor of Calgary is Muslim even, and around a year back I briefly dated a Muslim Malaysian girl and it wasn't an issue to anybody. Even in Ontario and Quebec I've noticed a palpable distrust, but not here. Can anybody shed some light on what any particular reasons for this may be? Talking mostly from a sociological view, is it our liberal economic policies that really make it easy for anybody to form a business, our decentralized governance, or are we just "on the same wavelength" so speak (the prairies in particular are quite conservative and most Muslim's I know seem quite at home here.)? Thoughts?

This happens a few years ago. When i was in primary school, i had a best friend called Samantha. Everything was alright until another girl came. So, she befriended Samantha and sort of steal my friend(Samantha) from me. One morning, during recess, i came and find Samantha and during that time, she was with her 2 friends in which 1 of them i knew(Jolyn). Basically, she was talking to them and when i came, the other 2 friends started laughing. I was curious at what they were laughing at but i didn't go and ask them. Hi, im a 30 year old male who been through same as you and some. I started out at a young age using and drinking. I burried atleast 5 really close friends b4 I graduated high school. I lost the woman I loved for 12 years and my 3 children due to my lifestyle. (not to death but she left and took kids). I was soo addicted to drugs that I hated to attempt to get out of bed everyday without knowing I had a high waiting on me. The life I was living was a sick, evil, perverted life in which landed me in jail for a total of 8 months and then I got released on Community Corrections for 8 years. (Same as doing a prison sentence on the outside, as much as a speeding ticket=jail). Somewhere in the midst of all of this I decided that this way of living is not good at all for me or anyone. I remember feeling hopeless one night before going to bed and I just hit my knees in tears and cried out to God to fix my life his way, not my way. (I really meant this) From that day to present, He has given me a peace and hope in my heart that only he can shake. If I could change anything about my past, I wouldn't change a thing. If it wasn't for me going through what I went through I do not believe that I would be who I am today. I wouldn't be able to relate to others like you. I did walk that road and I overcame it when I asked God for his help. Hold your head up and stand firm on the little ground that you have left.

My baby's chin gets more milk then her mouth.?

My four week old uses Soothie bottles. It seems like more milk gets on her clothes, bib, and neck than in her mouth. We were using the stage 1 but the doctor told us to use stage 2 when we told him about this problem. She is still losing the milk though. Its been so long since I've fed a newborn I can't remember if this is normal for them to lose that much milk. I know there is some dribble, but is that much normal? She also uses Soothie pacifiers so she is used to the nipple, so I don't think that is the problem.

If this is wood that would have decayed anytime soon, or from a sustainable harvest or thinning operation (that will enhance the growth of other trees), then it beats fuel oil. Unexplained weight loss?

I recently found out I was gluten intolerant. I was not diagnosed but I just stopped eating all bread and gluten products and my digestive problems went away. As a result I have completely stopped eating gluten. This was a little more than a month ago. Since then, I have gone from about 164 pounds to 157.5 pounds without any exercize at all. My appetite has not changed, I still have energy, and no other changes other than a more normal digestive system. I always hear about hoe unexplained weight loss, or weight loss with no exercize is a concern. My question is, given these cirstances, should I be concerned. Would the dietary change cause the weight loss? And is this cinsidered rapid or extreme weight loss? Thank you.

Neon tetra behaving strangely?

Two days ago I put six neon tetras in my tank to start (its a 30 gallon with a 90 gallon 403 fluval filter) and they all got along and all of them are obviously comfortable in their enviornment but one of them is behaving strangely. he swims around find but its obvious hes broken from the school and hasnt been with them all day and now hes just being static in one spot, help?

6 week old isn't napping well?

I am feeding my 6 week old and she seems to always be alert and awake during the day. So much so, that by evening she is exhausted and it's very difficult to get her to sleep at all. I feed her when she wants during the day (which is usually every hour to hour and a half). Once we're done feeding and burping, I try to put her down to sleep and the second she loses contact with me, she wakes up. I've tried all the stuff that works at night (patting, rocking, swaying, etc) and she just gets mad. We get up every 3-4 hours to feed at night and get up for the day around 8am. She usually eats every hour until 11 or 12 and then will sleep for 2-3 hours. Then, she is up and I usually can't get her to sleep longer than 20 minutes the rest of the day. Any ideas? We've been to the doctor and nothing is physically wrong. Recently, she has decided that she hates being swaddled--she has become very active the last week. She can support herself on her legs, hold her head steadily when she is upright, and can lift her head 45 degrees when she is on her tummy.

Where to buy clothes? What size?

OK, so I'm 5'4" and my bra size is 36C. My bust measurement is 40 inches, waist 31 inches, and hips 44 inches. I have an hourgl shape, but I have a really hard time finding clothes that fit me and look good. It seems like my waist disappears in a women's Large shirt... but I don't want clothes to be skin-tight on my ! Likewise I can't seem to buy dresses since my hips are like... size 14 but my top half is more like a size 8 or 10. How can I conserve energy in my arm when I throw a whole game?

The alternative religion I am most interested in is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormonism.) It has been of great interest of me recently and I have researched it a bit and I find myself believing more in God and his plan for my life much more than I do with Catholicism.
